a month agoIn Artimet, a community with over 1500 inhabitants, 200 are school-age children. Situated 28 km away from Yerevan, not all the children can access neighboring cities for proper technological education. The village, located 10 km from the border, emphasizes the importance of retaining the community's potential and connecting children to their roots. Unfortunately, the absence of non-formal engineering institutions has led to a partial decline in students interested in science subjects, despite their abundant curiosity and strong will.
Their primary challenge is the lack of resources hindering their exploration of the vast world of engineering. The village struggles with a lack of access to quality education, particularly in engineering. Many talented minds yearn for the opportunity to explore their interests and abilities, and an "Armath" engineering laboratory could be the key to unlocking those aspirations.
The village is gradually depopulating as young people leave in search of employment.
Numerous children become disillusioned, abandoning the path of engineering education. Many of these children could potentially become scientists and engineers, contributing to the development of strategies and improving people's daily lives. Some students already envision innovative devices and solutions that could revolutionize the current landscape.
Recognizing the miracles achieved through the "Armatհ" program in Armenia's educational system and in the minds of children, Artimet secondary school students are actively pursuing the integration of this revolutionary idea into their school. By developing skills and fostering teamwork in the Armatհ labs, young people can stay in their communities, finding employment globally.
Since 2011, the "Armath" educational program has operated in Armenia, serving as an informal techno-educational Armenian national program. Its goal is to make engineering education accessible, strengthen the teaching of science subjects in schools, and instill patriotism among school-age children by encouraging technical empowerment of the motherland.
In “Armath” Engineering Laboratories, children aged 10-18 are introduced to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education through interactive after-school classes, exciting competitions, innovative camps, and more.
Artimet secondary school students yearn for the day when they, too, can benefit from "Armath" laboratories.
With 200 students, Artimet secondary school distinguishes itself through students' diligence, forward-thinking abilities, and an ideology centered on a strong homeland for the future.
With the introduction of "Armath" laboratory in the school, we aim to:
